We are constantly looking for logs

Patrick Herrmann – an independent Stuttgart-based table manufacturer specializing in one-of-a-kind, handcrafted tables and counters, with its own regional timber supply. All production takes place exclusively at our facility in Leinfelden near Stuttgart, where our central warehouse is also located.
What makes this special is the wood with a certificate of origin from which I create these extravagant, one-of-a-kind pieces entirely by hand at the Stuttgart location, as well as my—or rather, our—method of “wood harvesting.” As a rule, the wood comes from the region and was sawed on-site by me or us (sometimes we even felled the tree ourselves first). I work exclusively with hand-selected old and large individual logs that usually have to be felled due to age, endangerment, or construction projects, and I let the wood age slowly in the open air for many years before it even enters the drying chamber. If the log is worth it, we spare no effort to retrieve it even from very difficult terrain—often without the use of machinery and often under physically demanding conditions. That’s how quite a few “treasures” have found their way to me.
I (...the “slightly” smaller one) work with a permanent partner (same name and age and “slightly” larger) and with a small number of experienced, competent and reliable partner companies.
I also (with a few exceptions) don't do classic gluing work, but work with a single piece or a maximum of two pieces.
Highest quality and transparency is the basis - individual craftsmanship in perfection is the claim - beauty and luxury the passion.
"because our wood is far too valuable"
It was a long road to get here. I originally have a background in the timber industry, having earned a degree in forestry business administration. However, it took me many years and many detours before my path led me back to the timber industry. I spent most of that time in the automotive industry, including many years abroad. When I founded the company in 2014—while still working my day job—I was one of the first professional contract sawing service providers in Germany to use mobile chain sawmills (which is how the website name ...mobilsaege-bw... came about). Shortly after that, I added tree felling to my services. As a logical consequence, this evolved into a timber trade specializing in regionally harvested and self-sawn fine and rare solid woods. I often work with my My regional selection of wood is truly unique, especially the many one-of-a-kind pieces, including oversized ones. I have specialized in hand-selected (ancient) large tree trunks, some of which we fell ourselves, but most of which we saw ourselves, allowing me to influence—or even determine—the quality and beauty right from the start. I have already had customers from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Austria who have come to me specifically for this reason. For the finishing, I mostly use high-quality epoxy resin produced in Germany, which I apply sparingly to preserve a subtle and elegant character.
The surface remains natural, but I make it durable and easy to maintain. Each table comes with a certificate of origin (and sometimes its story) and a video of its creation. As a customer, I am your sole point of contact. Many years have passed since I began, and by specializing in tables, I have learned a great deal and gained extensive experience—all of which flows into every table project. I maintain that there is not a single piece of wood left that I cannot transform into a stunning, one-of-a-kind table.
You can see this for yourself in my showroom in Leinfelden near Stuttgart, as well as, for example, in the lobby of the 4-star+ “V8Hotel” at Motorworld in Böblingen.
You work hard and are proud of your achievements—so are we…
More and more customers are coming to me on recommendation, and my regular customer base is growing as well.
I look forward to meeting you
The Story of the Patrick Herrmanns
Sometimes there really are funny coincidences. Such is the case with the story of Patrick Herrmann. Because there are actually two Herrmanns at work here—same first and last names, same age, and we even live in the same neighborhood. Patrick Herrmann (“the shorter one”), a Franconian from Nuremberg, and the other (“the taller one”), a Swabian from Stuttgart. We met many years ago in Stuttgart when the mailman delivered a package to the “wrong” person. When it comes to tree felling and large-scale sawing projects, we always work together as a permanent team. So far, I (“the shorter one”) have been the sole maker of the tables, and Patrick helps out when needed.
Our passion is for the natural material wood, from which these exclusive, custom-made solid wood tables and bar counters—each a one-of-a-kind piece—are meticulously handcrafted. I sell these directly under my brand “Patrick Herrmann.”
Regional, hand-selected tree trunks—which we cut ourselves using our mobile sawmills—form the foundation. We save trees—especially the old ones—that are usually “disposed of” from ending up as wood chips and cut them ourselves. This allows us to determine—or at least influence—the form of the wood’s future use, including its quality and beauty, right from the start. These pieces form the basis for our exclusive tabletops and bar counters. To ensure the highest possible quality, I—unlike other market players—first store this exceptional wood in the open air for many, many years to slowly release the tensions contained within the wood. Old trees in particular have cracks, knots, color variations, and “imperfections,” which, however, are what give these pieces their charm and character. I incorporate these into the design of each piece and also enhance them with epoxy resins, always keeping the focus on the natural beauty of the wood, which is brought to the fore.
It is also important to me to learn about the tree’s origin and, as far as possible, its history, and to document this information, which I provide to you, the customer, as a gift along with a video of the production process.
