This exceptional log from a historic, ancient, and massive European beech (Fagus sylvatica) with a diameter of up to 140 cm came from the castle garden of a university near Stuttgart. It was felled by Stihl on February 25, 2017, due to safety concerns, and we cut it on-site in July 2017 into sensational monolithic table blanks. Since then, this wood has been stored in my central warehouse in Leinfelden near Stuttgart. It has now aged incredibly well, is fully matured, and thus stable. Each of these pieces makes for a spectacular, one-of-a-kind table—whether a dining table, a desk, or even a conference table—crafted from a single piece with a magnificent red heartwood.
