We are constantly looking for logs

This extremely unusual side table or coffee table made from a solid slice of copper beech was made entirely by hand in my Stuttgart table workshop. The tree stood in a private property in the middle of Stuttgart and had to be felled for reasons of danger. We carried out the job ourselves and first removed the tree from above using the climbing technique, whereby I took care to saw the largest possible pieces of trunk during felling so that we could later obtain lots of beautiful slices from it.
We were then able to saw some large pieces of trunk into slices on site. This is now one of the larger slices and the first one I was able to finish as a table top. It is about 70 x 45 cm/28 x 18 Inches in size and approx. 6 cm/2,4 Inches thick. Some areas were slightly bush-hammered but everything was still solid, which makes this piece even more unusual than its spectacular shape alone.
I currently own a total of two such trunks with such an unusual growth form and can offer you many slices from them.
