This massive, approximately 10 cm thick slice of a sequoia tree with a diameter of approx. 1 m/3,3 feet comes from a tree near Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart, which i milled by myself on site in February/March 2022. As sequoia wood dries quickly, I was already able to make the final drying in a drying chamber and to finish this piece. I was surprised (or rather shocked) at how much oil this piece of wood absorbed during the surface treatment. For each! side I needed 1 can of 750 ml hard oil for the impregnation and then i polished in aditionally three coats of hard wax oil. The result, however, is spectacular.
