This individual piece comes from a willow from Rottenburg am Neckar that had to be felled due to construction work. We were able to saw it up on site and transport it away. After years of outdoor storage, this unique coffee table was created from a single piece of willow wood. A special feature of this tree is that 2 individual small willows grew together at the very beginning of its life. This is why you can see the 2 trunk “cores”. This coffee table was made entirely by hand in my table factory in Leinfelden near Stuttgart. It now stands with its proud owner in his apartment in Stuttgart.
Willow wood is a rarity that is not normally found in the “normal” wood trade and certainly not in these dimensions as individual pieces. I have the privilege of owning a total of two large old trunks that I was able to saw up and remove on site many years ago. you can find more information about this in my wood store in the respective menu.
The base frame was custom-made and was laser-cut from solid steel, welded to the attachments and then powder-coated to create this absolutely unique piece.
