Info: Another particularly beautiful piece. The main body consists of a large section of oak log, which was traditionally reinforced on the underside with two oak battens and then widened with two solid robinia battens glued in place. The sides and edges have all been rounded to a smooth, hand-carved finish. The cracks have all been meticulously filled with black epoxy resin. The slab was then finished with oil (I always oil all sides, and especially the top, until it is saturated and can no longer absorb any more oil, which provides particularly strong surface protection, though it is also very labor-intensive).
