Mobilsäge-BW & Herrmann Massivholz: Sawing up old oak beams - Mobilsäge-BW from Stuttgart
From a demolished barn there were some large ancient oak beams that the customer wanted sawed into planks to make tabletops. I cut one beam in half, which will be used to make a counter. The beams were covered with old very large partly hand-forged nails, which the customer first found with a metal detector and then meticulously worked out in days of work. Some of them broke off and were stuck firmly in the wood. These were exposed and a steel rod was welded in the wood to the broken nail and then pulled out with it. This great effort was worth it, however, very beautiful pieces came to light. The table or counter from it will be an absolute eye-catcher and unique, made of ancient oak beams from the demolished barn of his family.
