This very elegant and modern walnut dining table was a very special custom order. This designer dining table, crafted from European walnut, features a 10-mm-thick safety glass insert in the center, giving the table a particularly modern and elegant design. The 25 cm wide glass inlay rests flat on a wide rebate on each of the two separate large walnut planks. On the underside, the two planks are mounted separately onto a black powder-coated steel base frame using threaded sleeves. A Swiss edge was also applied to the outer edges of the planks to give the table a more delicate appearance from the side. As a special feature, the wood was actually provided by the customer, and I cut the log into these beautiful table blanks about three years ago at his location near Heilbronn using my mobile sawmill. The surface treatment was very labor-intensive, and I had to oil the top 4–5 times until the wood was evenly saturated throughout.
