This one-of-a-kind coffee table was made from a willow tree in Rottenburg am Neckar that had to be cut down due to construction work. I was able to cut it up on site and haul it away. After years of being stored outdoors, it was transformed into this unique coffee table made from a single piece of willow wood. A special feature of this tree is that, very early in its life, two small willow branches grew together. That’s why you can see the two “hearts” in the trunk. This coffee table was crafted entirely by hand in my furniture workshop in Leinfelden near Stuttgart. It now stands in the home of its proud owner in Stuttgart.
The base was custom-made and laser-cut from solid steel, welded to the attachments, and then powder-coated.
Willow wood is a rarity that you don’t normally find in “regular” lumberyards—and certainly not in these dimensions as one-of-a-kind pieces. I keep many such unique pieces in stock. Simply make an appointment and come pick out your favorite piece yourself in Leinfelden near Stuttgart.
