Oak slice table top project No.TP38 “two sides”

I was able to saw two huge slices out of the stump in the floor from an ancient, very large oak tree that we were allowed to saw up for a customer a few years ago. This is the story of one of these two oak slices.

The slice had broken into several pieces and was badly rotten in the middle. In the end, I prepared all the pieces neatly and cast two smaller slices with a diameter of approx. 60 cm (one of oak and the other of walnut) in the middle so that this tabletop can be used on both sides. One with oak in the middle and one with walnut in the middle. I then bonded everything together with epoxy resin in black and gold. This table top for 6 to 8 people is ideal for a smaller conference table or as a dining table.

The table top measures approx. 160 x 130 cm and is approx. 9-10 cm thick / 5,2 feet long x 51,2 wide x 3,5-3,9 Inches thick
