I made this beautiful dining table from Douglas fir wood as a commissioned piece in my Stuttgart table factory from just two very wide “sibling planks” from the same trunk. The tree comes from a large university garden near Stuttgart and was sawn by me on site. Douglas fir is not only suitable as a garden table but also fits very well in the home. Here, however, instead of the classic gluing of several wooden slats, I only use two very wide pieces, preferably from the same trunk, which looks very elegant and harmonious and of course makes the table top much more valuable. A beautiful black powder-coated steel frame is the ideal contrast to this warm reddish-brown wood. All cracks and knots were filled with hard wax and the table was then impregnated several times with organic hard oil.
After the necessary drying time, this table could now be made from it. It´s about 260 x 95 x 5 cm/8,5 feet x 37 x 2 Inches.
