Fortunately, for this one-of-a-kind dining table made of solid maple, I was able to find two ideal sister planks from the center of the same log. What makes them special is the size and the stunning heartwood color of these two pieces, which together create perfect harmony. Finding such pieces is a rare occurrence. The special craftsmanship then truly makes this table an extraordinary one-of-a-kind piece. For this, the natural edge was carved in a curved shape in the center of each piece, so that this table can be used both as a solid piece and as an open-top table (i.e., with a visible joint). The visible joint can also be easily adjusted by the customer at any time to a maximum width of 2 cm. The base frame is likewise a custom-made piece crafted from laser-cut 12 mm thick flat steel, which was individually welded and coated with a transparent powder finish. In this case, the surface treatment was carried out by the customer, for which various oils were first tested on a sample piece provided by me. The final dimensions of the table are approximately 220 x 102 cm/7,2 x 3,3 feet, with the tabletop being approximately 5 cm/2 Inches) thick.
